Messrs. Arthur Lee, Lin & Co. Advocates has a strong and efficient litigation department. All lawyers of the firm are computer literate and are well experienced in litigation and are backed up by competent computer literate staffs and efficient equipment and systems. We upgrade and replace all the office computer systems on a regular basis and all of which are internet enabled. On the litigation side, the firm is actively involved in a wide range of matters like Contracts Disputes(including Construction Contracts claims) Native Customary Rights disputes,insurance claims (inclusive of Life and Marine Insurance), commercial disputes based on sale and purchase of goods and land matters, Banking and finance matters (including forclosure and credit card recovery, Hire Purchase, Leasing and Factoring claims cases) and on contractual documents to ordinary contract to specialised contracts claims like shipping related cases. Our wide range of institution clients includes National and Multi-National Corporations.
Because of this, although we are Kuching based, our lawyers regularly travel to the major towns in Sarawak like Sri Aman, Betong, Sibu, Sarikei, Kapit, Mukah, Bintulu, Miri and Limbang for court cases on behalf of our clients and our area of practice is in fact state wide.
Because of our excellent Litigation track record, we had been appointed as a Smart Partner to Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad, an Islamic Bank, for purpose of debt recovery management from telephone collection up to enforcement of judgment, in Sarawak in the past until suspended and we welcome ant inquiries on new ways to speed up the debt collection process through litigation.
We currently have reciprocal arrangements with fellow Advocates in all major town and cities in Sarawak and Sabah to undertake filing, service and mention cases on our behalf.
In 1997, the High Court, Sarawak, in association with SAINS, a Sarawak Government owned Company, established the Technology Courts statewide where a combined video and teleconferencing court proceeding facility was introduced, enabling our Lawyers to appear on video link with Miri and Sibu High Courts without the need to travel there. Teleconferencing court proceeding facilities is also available for smaller District Court Registry like, Sri Aman, Sarikei, Kapit, Bintulu and Limbang. We use these services extensively and thus reducing the necessity for travel for Litigation on clients’ behalf and passing the cost savings to our clients.
The firm has devised tailored litigation systems and software for individual corporate clients to enable us to efficiently service institutional clients. This includes step by step instructions to clients’ staff to avail client to be kept up to date with legal trends, maximise debt recovery, up to date and maintain close contact with clients’ staffs and a regular litigation report to enable clients’ head office to be kept up to date with the overall progress of the debt recovery process. We are able to offer these on demand via e-mail to corporate clients who has a internet connection.
